On the morning of Tuesday 19th May, the school celebrated our annual awards ceremony in recognition of student achievement throughout the year.
It began with Ms Fagan welcoming our 1st Year Boys Basketball team into the hall after recently being crowned All Ireland Silver Medal winners! Our guest speakers for the occasion were Stephen and Martin O’Reilly from O’Reilly Sports. They gave a truly inspirational speech reminding the assembled students to always follow their dreams and that talent is only a small part of success and hard work leads to much greater rewards.
Awards presented on the day included Tutor Awards, Academic Year Group Awards, Leaving Cert Subject Awards, Gold Attendance Award, Gaisce, Debating and the Tom Cullen award for the student who represents a love for the Irish language and culture. Numerous sporting awards were given out, reminding us of the wonderful sporting talent we have at CCBS. A highlight is althe prestigious Spirit of Coláiste Cholmcille award with the recipient this year being Caleb McCarthy.
The Head Boy and Head Girl were announced for the next academic year also-congratulations to Jayden McGrath-Clyne and Éabha Rogers. All students in attendance represented themselves very well during the ceremony and were awarded positive points on VsWare in appreciation of this.
We are immensely proud of each of our students and congratulations to all nominees and winners on the day. Thanks is extended to all staff who were involved in the planning and preparation for the day.
