One Good School
CCBS takes part in Jigsaw’s mental health and wellbeing initiative designed to support the mental health of young people through a whole-school approach.
Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, runs the One Good School programme to help schools create a positive culture around mental health for students, staff, and parents. The programme provides training, workshops, and resources to build understanding, confidence, and skills in promoting and supporting mental wellbeing.
It focuses on the idea that every young person needs “One Good Adult”—a trusted, supportive figure they can turn to when facing challenges. By involving the entire school community—teachers, students, parents, and school leaders—the programme aims to make mental health a shared responsibility.
As part of the One Good School programme, Coláiste Cholmcille works in partnership with Jigsaw to embed mental health awareness, resilience, and support systems throughout the school community.
