Huge congratulations to our
First Year (Minor) and
Second Year (Junior) boys’ basketball teams on their outstanding success at the
North West Regional Finals, held on
Thursday, 26th March.

Our
First Year (Minor) team delivered a superb all‑round performance to defeat
Scoil Mhuire Ballymote by
55–21. The result was built on excellent teamwork, strong work ethic, and composed guard play throughout the game. Every player contributed to a dominant and disciplined display that set the tone from the opening minutes.

The
Second Year (Junior) final was a thrilling contest that showcased resilience and character in abundance. After falling behind
18–3 in the opening quarter against a strong and physically imposing
Rice College Westport side, our boys responded magnificently. Three gritty and determined quarters followed, with the team digging deep to claim a dramatic
38–36 victory at the final buzzer.

The Junior performance was driven by the leadership and scoring of
Tom Travers and
Daniel McLoone, with vital contributions from
Peadar Finnegan and
Ainle Drogou, as well as a tremendous collective defensive effort across the court.

What’s next?

Both teams now progress to the
All‑Ireland Playoffs:

Junior (Second Year): 23rd April
Minor (First Year): 27th April

Congratulations to all players and coaches involved in this fantastic achievement. We wish both teams the very best of luck as they continue their journey on the national stage.

Well done, boys — we’re incredibly proud of you!
