CCBS celebrates Erasmus Plus 2024- Pics
This week, we, along with schools across Europe, celebrate our part in Erasmus plus. Today, we take a look back at Congress week, a week that welcomed over 175 Primary School students from nine different feeder schools into CCBS to work with ourselves and our partner schools from France, Slovakia, Italy and Greece. Students enjoyed mixing with new friends and playing new sports under the guidance of our partner schools such as Petanque, Frisbee, Volleyball, and Unihoc, and in turn, we shared our love of GAA with them.
The week ended with a mini Olympic Games event that included mixed teams from all nine feeder schools. Each team had its own team leader made up of Transition Year students and proudly waved specially designed and hand painted Olympic flags.
We would like to thank Mona McSharry, past pupil and 2024 Olympic Bronze medalist and Michael Murphy GAA sports star, for sending video messages of encouragement and support to all our participants.
A special thanks to Brian Roper for all his help in organising the events throughout the week and, of course, our own teachers and staff for all their help in making this a great success. We would also like to thank the staff and students of the nine primary schools for attending and helping make the event a massive success; Kilbarron N.S., Scoil Mhuire Pettigo, Robertson N.S., Rockfield N.S., Creevy N.S, Four Masters N.S.,Gaelscoil Erne, Scoil Naomh Chaitriona and Holy Family N.S. Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our host families here at CCBS.
Without the help of host families, Erasmus plus, and all the opportunities it offers could not happen. For media coverage of the day, please check out Nuacht TG4 Player, S29 E264 broadcast 20/09/24 ( About 17mins in and only 16 days left to view).
