Congratulations to Lucy, whose fantastic year on the track and on the GAA field was recognised at the Donegal Sports Awards on Friday night.
Lucy won the category for best Secondary School Girl. Her year included CCBS’s first ever Ulster GAA All Star award, in itself a fantastic achievement. However, it is her achievemnets on the athletics track that really puts her at an elite level. Lucy has represented CCBS, Ulster and Ireland over the last year winning gold medals in 100m, 300m and 400m hurdles. She captained Ireland to silver medal at the Home Countries International multi events. She is gold medal winner both the Ulster and All Ireland schools competition in both 100m and 400m hurdles. She also represented Ireland at the World U20 competition in Columbia last summer. As recently as yesterday her Irish U20 relay team made qualifying standard for the Europeans in August with a new U20 record.
Personal bests and records have been tumbling all year including Ulster senior records for 60 metre hurdles. Well done Lucy on an amazing year; we are extremely proud of you at CCBS!
