Coláiste Cholmcille Gaelic Football Blitz 2024- Pics

Gaelic Football at Coláiste Cholmcille continues to thrive, with a surge of enthusiasm and talent in 2024. On the 10 th and 11 th of September, after a long summer break, Mrs Coleman organised a boys and girls Gaelic blitz aimed at showcasing the new talent arriving at the school for 2024.

Over two action-packed days, students braved a mix of all four seasons to participate in some great passages of play and showed great skill and determination to win for their county.  Despite the weather, we had a total of 160 girls and boys play 7 rounds of short, intense games each lasting 6 mins per half with an overall final at the end, to crown the winners. Both finals were tough and had some fantastic passages of play.
The finalist for the girls teams on the day were Dublin vs Cork with of course Dublin coming out as overall champions this year. The finalist for the boys teams were Sligo and Dublin but this time mighty Sligo came out on top.
Congratulations to all the players for their effort and creating a highly competitive atmosphere, and a special thanks to the TY students who assisted in organising and managing the event.
